A while ago when the guidelines were created, the Site Admins gathered for 7 days (well, it's not like we only focused on that but we did took a week to set everything right before the board was made public) and we agreed to make no rule we couldn't explain and justify. For example, when we decided that Administrators decisions would be discussed in private as it seemed (and still seem) reasonable to not wash dirty laundry in public.
Second, I must say that I am not in the habit of explaining the actions of another Administrator but since the thread title and some posts question the reason of the ban, I will expose them here:

As said above, I didn't ban you but another Admin who was impressed by the deepness of your posts did and without checking, I would say that you broke about half of the board guidelines in merely 8 posts. Considering this, I can only conclude that the ban was justified. It's not a matter of being on my bad side or that you encountered one of the board staff on a bad day; it's a matter of looking at the facts and reaching the appropriate conclusion. Yes, shame on your "friend" for tricking you into doing that but you did the deeds and as such you should take the responsibility for them.
However, since you didn’t try to embellish the reasons behind your actions, considering that you were prevented from posting for nearly a whole year and that you seem to be a genuine person who wants to be part of this community, I do not think there is a valid reason at this point to maintain the ban.
Note that in no way this conflit with the fact that an Admin decision is final; bans eventually expire.
Welcome and if you haven’t done so already, you may want to familiarize yourself with the guidelines.
