To the Members of the High Council
Dear friends,
I just wanted to share with you some of my recent thoughts. Of late, I have been thinking of the awkwardness included in coming to this new place. I felt like I was loosing a piece of myself in moving on. But as I thought on it more and more, I realized that there was a familiarity behind this feeling, something I had felt before. A night or so ago, it hit me.
I remember the time when this was all new and fresh to me. A long-time fan of the DRAGONS website, I was amazed to find one day that something new had been added. When I stumbled into the nearly empty message board for the first time, I was astonished at the possibilities that could arise from what was laid before my eyes. Naturally, I was not overly familiar with the technical aspects of this new feature, but still I ventured in.
It was a time where the post count was lower then the member count, and as I explored this fresh ground, I learned a lot of things.
I learned that SPAM is more than packaged meat. I learned that the best of friends come in every size, shape, and form, from dragons to phoenixes. I learned that even fallen angels have some good in them. I learned never to underestimate the smallest of your friends, even if they do wear a dress and high heels from time to time. I learned that you can’t post more than once every minute or so. I learned that good characters never really die in RPG, because their memories still cause an uproar in threads. I learned that even if you were the damsel in distress, your friends would still vote for you as strongest character because you cared. I learned that the annoying bad guy really isn’t always so bad but just misunderstood. I learned that banquets almost always end up in disaster or food fights, and sometimes both. I learned that turning wine into cheese is easier than you think. I learned that it’s the smallest characters that make the story great. I learned that Draches looks better then Medea in Serenity's jewelry. I learned that a tavern will never lack endless dark corners and hooded strangers. I learned that some boys will do anything for a laugh. I learned that statues given out by Keyla at awards ceremonies make good weapons for quieting a loose tongue, even better than brooms or rolled up newspaper. I learned that html coding isn’t really as hard as it looks. I learned that even though phoenixes hate water, they can still live in an underwater cave. I learned that sometimes the best comic relief comes from small furry animals. I learned that potatoes and tomatoes really do talk. I learned that moderating is synonomous with stress AND laughter. I learned that even an army headed by dragons would be kind enough to let in a half-elf whippet and make her a general. I learned not to judge a book by it’s cover, I mean, look at Elysian! I learned that it’s best not to upset the Admins, or risk being smited. I learned not to think too much of yourself, you may find out that the general you work for is 4 years younger than you. I learned that villagers are hard to come by, but everyone wants to be an all-powerful god and warrior. I learned that it’s just best not to ask some days. I’ve learned that the best stories come from the heart.
It is these things that has made my stay worthwhile and allows me to move forwards. I’m glad that I got to be here while this place grew and flourished. I’m glad that I got to be apart of every moment and met the wonderful people I did. I hope that the people who begin posting in this new location realize what a privilege they have, and a responsibility to set an example for those to come. I hope you can all learn the things I did, but maybe in more pleasant ways. I also hope that I can learn more from my new experiences to come.
Finally, I would like to add that the loss of a years work is a very tragic event. I know, however, that had it not been for Tempest’s resourceful thinking and generous donation of spare space and time, it would have been much, much worse. Many people in the ezboard network lost years of history on their boards, a majority of which may never be returned to them. Thankfully, with most of our history intact, we can move on and rebuild. For this, I think everyone owes Tempest a word of thanks and gratitude.
Thanks, Tempy, for everything you’ve done for us.

I have lived here before the days of ice,
And of course this is why I am so concerned,
And I come back to find the stars misplaced,
And the smell of a world that has been burned...
And of course this is why I am so concerned,
And I come back to find the stars misplaced,
And the smell of a world that has been burned...

Go to the main board. See the three circles at the top? Click the one with the pen and paper to register and the one with the key to log in.
You have to register again, I'm afraid. New boards and all...

And I learned that . . . what did I learn? Something to do with . . . tacos or something. Oh, now I remember! I learned nothing! Buwawawa!
*cough cough * Anyway, getting back to the real life. This place is 'freakin sweat' and I don't think I could ever leave. To much of a guilty conscious. That and Serenity would track me down and drag me back. So lets not see any periods of quietness again. But no spamming. That's Draches and mine job.

Well I know you've been around almost the whole time I have. I think you stuck more to the other forums rather than the RPG towards the begining so thats why we didn't see eachother much. I do remember you sitting on a hilltop at one time watching us fight in the War of the Wyr, ( I think this is correct) so it's been quite some time that you've been here.
And yeah... it seems like a short time since I was a "newbie", but really it's been forever. Also, at the time everyone was a newbie and I had done RPG previous to this, so I guess I got to skip the awkwardness of it all cause I never really felt too new. Lucky me...lol!

The lesson to be learned there is “<i>Do not invoke the wrath of a DM, especially if they happen to be running half the other RPGs on the boards at the time.</i>â€

Ya, runs deep in stupidity. What? How could I resist a set up like that? Even Exx set him self up for one by not ending his sentance with a question mark, but I can't do two in one post.
