here are a few films and books i think people here would enjoy.

Master and Commander - far side of the world => accurate seafaring adventure staring Russel Crowe. Set in the Napoleonic wars, it tells the tale of Captain 'Lucky Jack' Aubrey and his chase across several oceans (film)

The Requiem Shark - an accurate account of seafaring and piracy. A crew led by Captain Bartholemew Roberts is after the ship 'Juliette' They face pleasures and hardships along the way. It does get quite gory but its accurate. (book)

Admiral Hornblower - 3 books in one. It tells how Hornblower rises from Captain, to Commodore, to Rear-Admiral and finally, Admiral. His wife dies, he gains a french mistress and then marries the Admiral's widow. Plenty of salty sea battles, tense action and political dramas. (book)

If you were to juggle a lion, and a house cat, the end result would look something like a tattered chunk of red fabric. The cat would scratch anything within reach, and the lion would just eat you. The lesson to learn? Make sure you eat your spinach.

I wanted to see Master and Commander, but never got around to it.

I now must look for it in stores.

Has anyone ever read Good Omens???

That book is so friggin' hilarious. It's like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, only instead of making fun of outer space, it makes fun of doomsday...
I stayed in New Orleans for Hurricane Katrina, and all I got was this lousy T-shirt, a new Cadillac, and a plasma screen T.V....

Try browsing some local DVD places - WHSmith, HMV, Woolworths ectr.
You can also get the book it was based on and buy it on cassette tape.

I is getting it from me mom's DVD club. I'm tired of scanning the channels every few nights searching for it.
