however this may be about the end of the world but the bible does relate to it and we are discussing this relation and the reality of the christian bible. Same as we may have discused the Aseatruic (if thats how you spell it) Ragnarok. Besides if we sit on replies like:
Yes the world will end in 2012
or
No the world will not end in 2012
or perhaps
I dunno
Then this site is boring

There is no greater honor than dieing in glorious combat with a superior opponent. *Thrust... thrust.... parry....sweep.....THRUST!! Good.* Ah the joy of a Boar Spear.

There have been many dates that were suppossed to be the end of the world...
Since catastrophy was first comprehended, it was thought possible that a large enough catastrophy to destroy an entire planet might occur and was feared...
For instance, in the past 10 years, there were two dates that come to mind that were suppossed to be "The end of the world". However, both 1997 AND 200 went by without a hitch...
Now, having consulted the discovery channel AND the history channel on this, there is a large asteroid that are starting to concern some people...
It orbits around our solar system and in (I dunno if this date's correct) 2014, it will have a 1 in 5000 chance of bombarding the planet. That's a greater chance than getting in a plane crash. Now, if it doesn't hit us then, the gravity from Earth would have altered its course to hit us again in 2027...
Oh, and by the way, I'm back...

I stayed in New Orleans for Hurricane Katrina, and all I got was this lousy T-shirt, a new Cadillac, and a plasma screen T.V....

There were several methods they were going to try to deflect a large asteroid...
One of them is a large mirror that will reflect light on to the asteroid, which will push it away...
The other is a satellite that will pull the asteroid away from earth using it's own gravity, and into deep space...

I've heard about those asteroids. I think they should build a huge combined laser like Torchwood had to vaporise the asteroid.

good point
I think that we are overdue for many catastrophes (yellowstone erupting, asteroid hitting earth, pole reversal, temperature shift) which could cause a mass extinction, but that doesn't mean it's the end of the world. the people left could pick up the pieces, learn from the dead people's mistakes, and live on.
or the world could end and we coudl all die and then we would know, wouldnt we

Now and then I announce "I know you're listening" to empty rooms. If I'm wrong, no one knows. And if I'm right, maybe i just freaked the hell out of some secret organization. It's basically Paschal's wager for the paranoid prankster.

you may not know as you were dying, but if there was an afterlife(not sayingthat there is) then you would know. if there isnt an afterlife, well then let those few left know and you rest in peace
If you were to juggle a lion, and a house cat, the end result would look something like a tattered chunk of red fabric. The cat would scratch anything within reach, and the lion would just eat you. The lesson to learn? Make sure you eat your spinach.

I say we should believe in the afterlife on the grounds that, if we say "no afterlife" and we're right, there won't be any chance to say "I told you so" anyway, so we should believe and that way cover all of our bases, and then be garunteed right no matter what, and we should- *takes deep breath* STOP ARGUING OVER SOME F***ING ISSUE THAT NO-ONE AGREES ON ANYWAY!!!!!!
