Any one good at interpreting dreams?

Post by Araki »

Just currious cause I had a tottaly bizar dream last night. It started off with me walking down street in my old home town towards the school I went to Jr High. Upto that point every thing seemed normal then suddonly the road started filling with water and before I knew it the whole city was flooded, and people and things where getting swept away. I tried to hold on to my girlffriend when she swept by close enough to grab yet even though I held on to her with all my strength the force of the water pulled her out of my grip and swept her away.

Generally being unable to grasp something means you aren't trying hard enough to keep them.
Water can symbolise a lot of things - peace, floods, stress. I'd probably clue a flood to stress as they both seem to overpower

I suppose it could be that or in hind sight could of been a premonition. Im only home for few min now grabing some stuff for over night at hospital I went to visit GF and apparently something happened lastnight and they dont think she will make it threw night they wont tell me what exactly happened as im not family. Her sister drove me home to get my stuff and im going back now.

aahh premonitions! don't even get me started on how creepy it is to dream something normal, such as a conversation with a friend, then somehow have that exact conversation the next day and be able to predict what your friend will say next. out of curiosity, does anyone else dream like that?
oh, and Araki: I hope your girlfriend gets better, she's in my prayers
Now and then I announce "I know you're listening" to empty rooms. If I'm wrong, no one knows. And if I'm right, maybe i just freaked the hell out of some secret organization. It's basically Paschal's wager for the paranoid prankster.

Araki, I'm sorry for your girlfriend. That is truly horrible. Dragonfly, yes, I have dreams like that.

Looking at a somewhat concluded result of some things that have happened, Araki, I'd say that you were probably scared of losing your girlfriend, and so then were trying desperatly to hold onto her, but the waters (hence the floods in your dream) of fate are stronger (unfortunatly) than peoples own brute strength. Perhaps it was hindsight or a premonition, or it was just your subconscience telling you that things were meant to be this way.

Since dreams are your brain's way of removing extra junk from your mind, I wouldn't attach any meaning to them.

True, but it is also your brains' way of being able to process things and bring to the forefront of your mind other things that might happen. It's a preparation thing. But, alas, dreams are just dreams.

Ok, I totally understand if it maybe slipped your mind or you're new here, but generally, try to avoid posting in threads that have been post-less for more than two weeks. That's called necromancing and it really gets on some people's nerves. Not to mention it's technically against board rules.

Just a heads-up. ^^

I had The book of dreams & dreaming it had every word in the dictionary with an abbreviation of why your dreaming about it Ie. Tidal waves- a sense of being trapped and insecure.

I personnaly have strange dreams, when I was younger about 5/6/7 I had a teddy bear of rupert the bear and I thought it was the best, but one night i dreamt that king kong was dangling us off the empire state building. Being at such a young age this startled me; But this dream occured more and more often until i finally gave it up when I was nine.

The other night i dreamt that i was in the kitchen and the house across the alley had a woman staring at me, this occured about 50 times or so and so I got pretty angry, I told my parents and grandparents and they said there was no one there. So then i screamed and ran upstairs and for some reason i was cooking soup in my bedroom and i had a mattress to sleep on instead of a bed (What the hell) then i woke up and got on with my life.

Dreaming is a strange world!

The dream about your teddy bear could be that (at that age) you were terrified of losing your best friend.
Unless the second dream is a reoccuring dream, there probably isn't any meaning to it.

I've had a couple of dreaming books, too.

I think you need to re-read that post. Just a suggestion, you can continue your conversation via PM.

I always have pointless dreams where theres only half the picture Ie. I would walk out of my house and there would be things in the street I that are never usually there.

Usually dreams about thing washing away can mean that troubles are passing but your not sure about them. It can usually be a good omen, you maybe letting go of something which was hard to do, or you are scared of losing something.
