Re: out of this world
here is one of my theary for why there is no proof( this is VERY VERY old theary I had so I can't give full details on it yet.)
would it be a possability that christyanity would destroy the bones completely to make sure dragons will stey dead out of fear that they could return for in their eyes dragons were demons.
again this is a very old theary so it will be kinda sketchy

my reason behind no proof is that
A) they live somewhere humans do not believe exists, such as atlantis
Or
B) they live somewhere where humans can not survive

So they went to every place in the world what has had dragon sightings (and again there are many posts that say they are from all around the world) and destroyed the entire body bones "unbreakable scales" and whatnot.
dm
So how do we know they are around then?

Re: out of this world
vamp i think these are maybe some explanations why we don't have fossil records of dragons
1 dragon bones are misidentified and/or maybe their bones couldn't survive fossilization
2 maybe dragons themselves hide the bones of other dragons sort of a look after your own thing

If so, that means dragons are not around humans. So how do we know about them?dragonmaster wrote:my reason behind no proof is that

No i think vamp questions them ever exsisting. However to your question i respond with the entire reason all of these questions come up, almost every culture had dragons in some shape or form.

Re: out of this world
We have found a lot of bodies of things in strange places. And if not the bodies, what not teeth in the bodies of their pray.Forgotten Dragon's Ire wrote:vamp i think these are maybe some explanations why we don't have fossil records of dragons

The sad thing is the misidentification has been more the other way around. A lot of "dragon bones" have been shown as known creatures. And bones are strong, that is why we can find them after so long. If they are too weak to survive fossilization, dragons were much weaker than we thought.
I can see they may take away the bones or bodies of the dead. The same with elephants. But there is no way they can do a 100% cleanup. A tooth, claw or missed bit of wing bone is all it takes.

Re: out of this world
that is the thing vamp if they missed a small portion then that portion could have been miss identified as some other animal. And to the bones being strong, then how about the dragons throwing them into a volcano

Re: out of this world
yes but if we only found a single bone or even a few without a majority of the bones of the creature people would be hard pressed to identify the bones as dragon bones

Re: out of this world
So again, why no hard evidence? There are digs going on right now for creatures and things from all around time. Just this past couple of months a couple of new dinosaurs have been announced. We have found many subsets of former "humans", but have yet to even find a claw in a castle as a trophy. Why is there not a dragon head sitting next to some knight's deer or boar head? If I killed a dragon I would keep something as a trophy.dragonmaster wrote:No i think vamp questions them ever exsisting. Re: out of this world
again those bones mights have been recovered by other dragons and as to the trophies i think they might either refuse to announce that they have dragon bones Or they don't know what they have any more

So, a German dragon flew all the way to an active volcano and threw the bones into it? Only a few volcanoes are active at any one time. And that does not mean they have lava as we know it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cu ... _volcanoes
This is getting frutless. I try to connect these creatures to something and you take them away from them.

What ire said and, if you were a knight which would you take an old dead body or an amount of gold equal in weight.vampirehunter42 wrote:So again, why no hard evidence? Re: out of this world
What gold? And then why not a claw, tooth, or horn. Make it into a really cool pendent? Cut apart the wings and make a cloak. Cut off some of the scales to make some jewelry. Yea gold is nice, but showing a trophy is what shows you are a true warrior. Like keeping swords and armor from the fallen and hanging them up on your wall.dragonmaster wrote:What ire said and, if you were a knight which would you take an old dead body or an amount of gold equal in weight.vampirehunter42 wrote:So again, why no hard evidence? Re: out of this world
they might have made some such thing but over the years they forgot what they had or do not talk about it. In the modern age the dragon is believed a myth so no one would believe what some one else said

Re: out of this world
ahh the old gold thing. the knights were overly religious and they see gold as a usefull item. teading a peice for gold would be logical and lets not farget that we all agree that dragon bones would be hollow so destroying the bones would be easy.( I bet a priest would do this, not the knights)

Re: out of this world
But they still wouldn't do a perfect job- at least some bones/teeth/claws/scales would survive, especially since Christianity did not extend over the entire world at that time.
