sea dragons are always shown attacking ships. and they look pretty annoyed, almost always. why do you think that is?

I also agree because that is also the most likely reason dragons attacked the little villages

Either territorial or maybe they attack ships because of the fish on them, (like godzilla, lol) or because they are protecting their food source.

Okay, if what you're saying is true (and I think it is because it's better than my theroy.) then are they normally passive and some time shy creatures?

yep. Until a king or a boat comes and takes the dragon's territory and eats the dragon’s food, then this happens.->

I don't see Nessie or Champ seeing humans as lunch, no matter how annoying they are or how much they invade their space.

Re: the littlest sea serpents
honestly I think nessie and champ died long ago. (also if they did not die there is still the possability that they are not even a sea dragon)

Re: the littlest sea serpents
Well, they are as smart as dragons and have a connect to water and can waddle on land. And they seem either timid or really clever. They are too odd to be fish and appear gentle enough. As I said before, they might be an entire race. Not one or two.
