this site is about paying homage to dragons, not hunting them and eating them

Shai'tan - some people find eating dragons offending....including me and a fair few/all of us here

The aim of Shai'tan seems to be causing the disruption and angering of members here in saying such things. Such comments are best ignored and are not to be honored with an arguement. Not only will you give him/her the gratification of knowing they have aroused your anger so easily, but it will also cause subsequent flaming that is unnecessary.

As for you, Shai'tan, I suggest that you lay out your opinion in a more respectful manner. It is expected here that you act respectfully, so please do so to the best of your abilities.

And I come back to find the stars misplaced,
And the smell of a world that has been burned...

I was confused by the size of the dragons. I thought that if a small dragon had to have certain perportions to fly,why those certian perportions double or triple for a larger creature, and why it wouldn'd fly?

The problem with upping the size is when every time you double something’s size it will quadruple in weight. So, for example, if something is 1 ft long and weighs 1 lb and you increased it to 2 ft, its new weight would be 4 lbs. And then you fall into the upper stresses of the bones. Just look at the large land based animals, most if not all have column like legs. Being their legs are straight holding the mass of the body like that other than perpendicular like a number of smaller creature. So the wings may not hold the weight for a larger creature. My guess would be a pony sized dragon is the upper limit.

I hope that helped.

@ Guest: When you post there is a textbox called "username", even if you are not a registered user, you can enter something here and your post will appears under that name. That would be preferable than being a no-name guest.

@Shai'tan: I weigh people's good posts against their bad posts, and let me say that your ratio is not looking good. Maybe you think a handful of normal posts balances out everything else you can throw here but it doesn't work that way.
