Dragon fire!
How do dragons produce their fire. This is actually a topic in my school. Our teacher tried to prove they werent real, but well show her. Any ideas?
Life is too short. And it is snatched away to quickly by a drunken boy and his car.

To breath fire is easy for them : everytime they eat, they save some of the energy in a special organ. It produces a substance wich is VERY flamable. It explodes if gets into contact with oxygen. A normal dragon can normally save enough of this substance for about five long breaths of fire !

It is belived that the dragons astored Methane when they digested food. Even us humans produce a little (*fart*). The dragons would scrape up either platinum, or iron deposits, plus flint . During battle, a dragon would release the methane from an organ in their body, while the flint and metals rubbed together. If a spark occured, a humongous flame would erupt from the dragons mouth (mind you, only the vapors caught on fire, so the dragon didn't burn its mouth ). This would either severely damage the opponent, or kill it. Btw, it is also believed they could breath frost (with compressed Nitrogen, also created from digestion) and acid (stomach acid. Duh!). But I suppose wind would be easy if the dragons had a strong diaphragm, to quickly and powerfully release the air from its lungs. Not much good, though. Also, I do not believe lightning is possible, as nothing 9in the body can make it. Give me evidence.

*thinks back to what I've read.* well...in everything I've read or studied they have a special organ...what is sometimes called a fire lung, where they store a type of flammable gas.
I forget what the explaination for how that gas caught fire tho...heh
jeez I'm rusty on my dragon knoledge...

I figured it out the dragons that control weather use their scales as lightning rods and to control wind they call it using a special silver scale in their wings and manipulate the already existant wind, cool huh?

Yes, it sounds feasible, but exactly how far would that go? If there was no wind, they could probably create some with their wings but lightning? Its probably not possible to actually control the weather. Although some cases may seem like it. Perhaps a special metal the scale is made of conducts static electricity, so whenever it needs to, the dragon can just poke its foe and shock the hell out of it! Altough I can't really see a dragon flying around poking things...

I see your point Talus, but that's kinda why wind and lightning dragons are so rare also it is beilived that weather dragons left our plane long ago I would be surprised if any still exist here!

dragon fire
actually i read somewhere that lightning dragons have a special organ in their mouth that allows them to work up enough static electricity to launch a lightning bolt out of thier mouth.
