In response to you question, what, the consensus seems to be fairly complete that dragons do, indeed, drink water, and that this will not damage or inhibit their fire-breathing ability, if such an ability is possessed.

How would a dragon get milk? They're reptiles, and only mammals can produce milk.

If you look over at the thread about classifying a dragon, most of us have decide that dragons aren't reptiles, but a different class all together, so they could have mammary-like glands and make something like milk.

Well, dragons at least have a reptilian ancestor, and most studies of dragon anatomy I've seen show no signs of mammary glands or anything of the sort. The only way I see one drinking milk is if it farms cows or something.

You can't say that dragons have a reptillian ancestor until you can produce a dragon, and all you can speak of so far as anatomy is theories.

All dragons have either scales or feathers. The only landdwellers with scales are reptiles and birds, so the dragon would have to be either a reptile, or decented from one.

A lot of dragons of myth had leathery skin. Moreover, many dragons are not ever purported to dwell on land, so why should we confine our anscestors to that?

Hey the real thought is once most mammals reach adulthood they no longer need milk. And most of them can not digest it. The only reason we humans can do so is most of us drink it throughout our lives. But I don't, can't stand the taste.
And I have been thinking on this one, it fits into the same area as what do you call a 300 pound gorilla with a machine gun. What ever it wants.

Would you mind giving a reference for that. All I can find about "Dragon's milk" is a book about to come out, a perfume, and a really good sounding beer.
But I have found something on the use of "dragon bones" in China. This may be from the lack of milk in ancient China, and they used "dragon bones" ground into things (like tea) for the calcium.
