i never said i thought my art was terrible! i only said it's not the best quality! geez, reading too much into my words.
anyway, i have a hard time drawing something that someone tells me too. i don't know if i could do commissions...

we're sorry. well, i am anyway seeing as i kinda started that bit.

yeah, commissions are hard 'cause you have no idea what quality the other person expects it to be

Hey, and welcome to the boards! (A little late, I know)

You have some very nice drawings! And I totally understand what you are saying! Things never turn out like I originally plan either when I draw something up... That and everything inevitably looks like a cartoon. I'm terrible at realism.

Have you taken any anatomy courses, or do you just wing it in your sketches?

i am intrigued though...
maybe i'll give it a shot. heehee, the problem now if finding someone to work for

and i just 'wing it' as you say. i understand basic bone structures just from common sense and i draw it how i think it should look

For commissions you're not supposed to draw it exactly like they want, you're are supposed to draw it with the basics of what they want and the rest from your own mind.

yes, but there are those people that want you to draw EXACTLY what they want. i don't think i could work for those people

Well, if they don't like what comes of it, you can sell it to someone else or keep it for yourself anyway.

true. but there is still the problem of finding someone to buy my art. i don't even know how to start...

Advertise it somewhere, or display it somewhere. Like the fair that you said you show it at, that would work.

possible...
another problem. that fair is over and the one i'm showing at right now is kinda far from where i live. not terribly but far enough that i'm not going to drive down there. i sent my pictures through the extension office at the court house.
so other than the three yearly fairs i participate in (two of which are already over) i have no way to advertise.
grawr... this is difficult

You could always just wait 'til next year.

yeah, and hopefully by then i actually have a definate style :P
seriously, i've had people look at pictures that i have drawn and think that all of them were done by three different people

Posted: Sat Sep 03, 2005 4:35 pm
by Silentiea
Well, that could work to your advantage. Your art could appeal to more people who only like specific styles.

but i might not be able to draw it in the style they want. i might draw it in a different style. or it might be a style that i only drew that one time and wasn't able to repeat.
i'm not arguing with you, i'm just bringing up some things that might happen. i'm actually considering doing this

Or you caould do it over a time and make it have no style in particular, make it look unique.

oooooo, me likey that idea
it'll either turn out really good or really bad.

*steals both lightsabers*

mess with these again and I'll ram them so hard down your throat that you'll have to sit on a hamburger to eat it!

I must say, this is one of the better twists for a thread to take. From welcome to lightsabers. Ever thought how awesome it would be to have one of those things? I rather have the Jedi powers instead. What exactly are the Jedi powers anyway? Pushing things, levitating things, jumping high, choking people, throwing a lightsaber, and well that's all I can think of.

Allorith: Throwing lightning, catching lightning, healing people, deflecting lasers, thinking faster, moving faster, changing minds, hiding, fighting better. These are in addition to those you mentioned earlier and are all things a jedi cand do withOUT a lightsaber. *takes out another lightsaber* Haha, I don't have to touch those again, 'cause I carry extras.
