These rules apply only to the Role Playing section; they are still under editing and may change without notice.
Rule #1: One thread in the Role Playing Forum also mean one thread in the Out of Character forum
For each new game you create, you must have one active thread about that game in the Out of Character (OOC) Forum (named "OOC:" followed by the name of the In-Character RPG post). The OOC thread serves to create the background of your game (general description of the location, what type of characters are allowed, the specific rules you want to use in your thread (if any), what is the level of power/skill of the character allowed, and any other helpful information).
The players can then post a description of their character in the OOC thread. That doesn't means you have to tell everything, but you must tell enough for anyone to have a good idea to who they are speaking. Yes, some persons are using the same character in many threads, but they still have to post the description of the character they will be using in all the thread where they are involved in.
After you have a clear idea of who will be participating in your thread, you can set up your game. You should start your game by posting in the Role Playing Forum. This may sound like a checklist, but it makes it much easier for everyone, including newbies, to understand the context of your game.
Rule #2: You must introducing your character
One way of describing your character is to post a "character sheet" in the OOC thread for the game you would like to join. A character sheet is like the description you will find on an ID card, it goes directly to the point. You are also highly recommended to post an in-game description of your character in the first post you make in the game. Some threads in the OOC forum require you to describe your character according to a certain way (filling out the blank of a template, for example). You should respect the wishes of the person who started the thread and acquiesce to the way they want you to describe your character.
Rule #3: Do Not Interrupt a Game
If you are not a part of a game, then you should avoid posting in it. If you wish to join a game that is in progress, post in the corresponding Out-of-character thread for that game and inform the Game Master (if this is a game with a storyteller) or one of the players (if this is a free-form game) of your intentions to join their group. Posting relevant information about your character's background and description in the corresponding OOC thread for the game is also recommended. This way you will be introduced into the game without disrupting the story line.
Rule #4: No God-modding
You character isn't a god so s/he shouldn't behave like one. No one is all-powerful. We all have our drawbacks, so do our characters. This must always be remembered, and always be obeyed.
Rule #5: Don't go too far
That means no bedroom RP scenes... Having two characters achieve some degree of intimacy is fine, just don't cross that line. This also includes insulting other characters (even if this is something your character *would* do). Keep it very obvious that this is role-playing and not an attempt to settle a score with someone.
Rule #6: Do Not Post Anything Off-topic
If you feel confused about something related to a thread, you can either post your inquiry in the OOC thread for that game (if you feel that it will be a discussion of more than just one or two posts) or inside your post (if you feel that your question is unlikely to go beyond two replies).
Also, if you do not know the answer to someone else question, then abstain from obscuring the issue by passing unnecessary comments. Many threads have gone completely off-topic by doing such thing.
Rule #7: Do not make "blank" posts
You must post something of reasonable length in every of your posts. In general, your post should contains at least 30 words (this is about two lines of text). Less than that is equal to lack of content and lack of content is something that will be frowned upon here.
Rule #8: Avoid making unnecessary threads
Do not make a habit of starting multiple threads with (nearly) the same story line, setting and plot. Any new thread should be a new game and not just a fresh restart of your last game. Also, do not make multiple posts for the OOC of one RPG thread. Try to keep all of the information about your game in the same thread. And finally, do not create threads that do not pertain to the forum.

A character sheet look like this: Name: Aegis Eyes: Purple Height: 5' 2" Race: Dragon-anthro Gender: Female Description: Born from a noble family, she is a skilled diplomat and when she speaks she usually knows the right thing to say without offending anyone. She is naturally curious and strongly believes in the wills of her god Surtak, the embodiment of her race's ideal. Racial Hindrance: - Her race penalty dictates that she cannot wear or use heavy weapons (lacking strength) - Her race has a background in technology and makes them not inclined toward magic. Racial Benefits: - She has an acute sense of hearing and can rarely be surprised. - She has an unusual resistance against cold. Preferred Weapon: Short sword, crossbow | An in-game description looks like this: The small dragon-like creature dressed in fine wear enters the inn. While it is possible to grossly misjudge some of the creature's abilities, it is clear that that she was more inclined towards the warrior side. Her purple eyes carefully study the room as she shifts her concentration to a group of travelers sitting around a table. As she takes note of the discussion of the small group, she moves toward them and eloquently says: "Greeting sirs and ladies. You seem to be as concerned as myself by the unrest in the Northland (the quest) and it may be of benefit for us to travel together as our goals seem to come into alignment." (short, but nice) |
