I've heard of bane in all forms, but no one really can tell me exactly what it is. For what I can tell it's either some kind of chem, or some kind of plant. Just needed that cleared up.

Well, the only way I've heard it used is "Any substance or thing, person, idea, event, etc. that leads to the death, or is severely damaging to, a particular substance, thing, person, idea, event, etc." It can be used pretty broadly, although it is generally applied to persons, groups of persons, both as who damages, and who is damaged.

Most references I've seen say it's either a smallish plant similar to ivy.

Generally speaking, dragon's bane can refer to pretty much anything, be it an earned name, a weapon, a location or an herb.

But as an herb, I personally saw it as some sort of catnip for dragon that make them behave oddly / disable them. But I'm not sure where I got that idea so I did some checks around and found that Dragon's Bane was used in the way I described above in a few books such as Curse of the Dragon (Christopher Brown, 1985) and The folk-tales of the Magyars (Jones, W. Henry et al., 1889) either as a powerful narcotic / poison (mind and/or body).

Yeah, i thought it was a plant too, like Wolfs bane, which does all kinds off stuff. Supposedly sprung from the venom of Cerberus at one stage, adn it can turn you into a werewolf.

Same cause (a herb called Bane), different effects (depending on the species)?

Dragons bane would be sme sort of poison. Wonder if it's deadly to humans?
