OK so this topic just jumped into my head, how do dragons smell? Do they use a nose almost like ours, do they have no sense of smell, do they use thier tongues to smell like the lizard they are most often associated with; the snake, or perhaps something i have not thought of. So opinions are greatly appreciated, thank you

I would go with they have noses to smell. The reason I would have to go with this conclusion is because of two reasons.
1) A dragon would not be considered a clean if it douse not know it is dirty in the first place.( yah you can feel like you are dirty but some times you know when you smell dirty as well.)
2) I just can't picture a dragon sticking it's tongue out every 10 sec without a snake popping in my head.
honestly isn't it easy to tell with just the shape of a dragon's head?? -_-

Well, Dragons have classically been shown with nostrils, so I would have to go with the concluion that they have noses. Other than that, there isn't any evidence.

Q: How do they smell?
A: Awefull. Like rotting meat.
All senses of smell work the same way, by definition. Floating molecules come in contact with sensitive tissue within the sensory organ and stimulate the formation of receptacles. Whenever the same kind of molecules meet the receptacle again, the creature smells said object.

Myself i would guess that they smell using
a combination of both tongue and nose
