Poem of the heart

"My heart has traveled the narrow winding path called love.
It has known times where it leaped and sang,
Times where the joy was so great it could not be expressed in mere words.
But those times are gone now only to be replaced,
Replaced by the trail of longing sorrow along which my solemn heart now treads.
Never again will joy be as sweet nor happiness as complete,
For my heart left the path of love a battered and torn object.
To wander alone in the void of lamentation. Anon"

Replaced by the trail of longing sorrow along which my solemn heart now treads.

For my heart left the path of love a battered and torn object.
