play times and role call

If we ever manage to get a rp going, it would probably be handy to have a reference for when certain members will get a chance to play and who will even be able. That way, there is no awkward waiting for the member with the important quest item or accidental killing of a character who has no chance to counter, the object can be passed off beforehand, the player can be omitted from battle, or the dm (or another trusted player) can take over for them. And, this is speculation, it may allow faster play if most players can find a common time. Just an idea, never rp'd before, not sure if will work.
Most of my extracurriculars are out until january, so im free 4:30 to 7:00 most weeknights. Thursdays im only free until 5:30 or 6:00 (scout meetings) and all my weekends are booked solid until christmas.
Edit: forgot to mention that my times were Eastern-Standard, or in forum time UTC-5 hours

I like this idea. This is an excellent idea.
I'm available weekday evenings (6PM-9PM EST), Saturday nights, and all day Sunday. Subject to change depending on how busy I am, whether I have to be absent for work, and how creative I'm feeling.

A cleaver idea asdf! We need more RPs and such ideas around here anyways.
I'll admit, the love of RPing rather died on me and thus I traded from RPing to reading. Even so, I'm more than sure I can get back the love of it that I had when I was younger here and I am free almost 24/7, in other words I have no schedule and thus will be more random in the timing of my posts by how I feel. Even then I'd say Tuesdays and Thursdays are the more favorable days for me when it comes to posting in RPs.

My main problem with this is that it puts people with slower typing speeds, such as myself, at a disadvantage. However, I am available from like 4- midnight PST on monday - wednesday and all day friday - sunday

This is true but I also think that knowing when everyone is on/off and how their schedules work may be quite beneficial to Dragnix as a whole. If we get active in the RPs again by our schedules and post quality posts faster than we are now, what's stopping us from doing the same in the other discussion threads?

We could have an associated IM room to coordinate during those unlikely moments where posts are happening fast enough for this to be an issue. MSN, Yahoo, Skype, etc.

That's only happened to me once.
Sorry for adding pages without letting you respond, Falconer...
I'm free pretty much whenever. But we don't need to post at the same time, only make sure we post at least once every two days, ideally once a day.
Unless you won't to try Future!RPing, which involves taking into account lightspeed delay between the guys at Jupiter and those at Venus, with a Martian GM (they're in conjuction, that's why; when Mars is at opposition to both, the GM is a Venusian)...

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that that will not be an issue.

Eh, it could be fun to play that way...

Probably not. I am STILL on sattelite (phone company conveniently ran out of grant money just before they hooked up the relay boxes and cable they already installed) and when we upgraded to exede the new frequency has sh*tty penetration against cloud cover resulting in a full ten seconds of lag time, i cant even directIP counter-strike with my friends. I can only imagine what up to an hour of lag time would do to a game.

Play-by-post can handle days of lag time. The players, not so much.

I start twitching after about 2.38 seconds.

Precisely.
Maybe we should have an RP set at a ComicCon, with GodMod characters after An Event causes people to
Become The Costume. Magic and superscience is handled through The Immaterium, which is accessible not just to the "good" people...

Become the costume? So if i dressed up as a bomb i would become a bomb and blow the place up? Or if i dressed up as Trevor i could pull 15 different weapons out of my underwear and make cars appear by pushing controller buttons in a certain order? Because if yes i liek dis a lot!

Eh, sort of. Yeah.
If we're doing this, I'm claiming Adria.
Now I just need to come up with powerful enough villains...

Adria IS a villain. I vote we RP that Franklin Richards goes schizo.

Yes, but what I have in mind doesn't involve personality and memory rewrites. Tendencies, yes, and knowledge...
Hmmm, mutant reality warper with vast psychic powers? That seems to be roughly in the sort of power level I'm talking about...
Just, try to avoid Slender Man, and don't let the plague doctor touch you.
First mission - take out SCP-612. The old SCP-612.

Sorry, *682*.
Getting back on topic... I'm free pretty much whenever, though I do actually have work to do. Damn Open University, it's got the same problems as "working" at home...
Especially with Netflix. I mean, I've got back episodes of Stargate to catch up on! And Battlestar Galactica. And Sherlock. And Star Trek...

I don't have a completely set work schedule, so there will be days that I can post during the day. But for the most part, I'm usually free after 6pm EST (sometimes I have to work later, but not often) (or sometimes I'm lured away with the promise of food. Mmmmm. . .fooooood. . .). Oh, and as long as my team is playing, Saturdays are out for a bit for me. Go, sports!
