This 'mystical dragon' guy is getting this info from a t.v. special on Animal Planet called 'Dragons: A Fantasy Made Real', therefor, it's not true. At the very end of the program, the creators said that they had made everything up, baseing their info on what they believed dragons were like.

Quite frankly, pure aluminum would work better, but too much would make the dragon's head explode.

how could aluminum be better?

Wouldn't condensed hydrogen be more effecient???
Or *yech* methane???
Or flamethrowers???

Methane could be volatile to carry inside; one wrong backfire and you blow your guts out your back end. Oh wait, that's what a fart is, isn't it?
In any case, no one would want to be in the area during the course of a dragon fart.
I was going to say sodium or magnesium, but that would result in blowing the dragons head off for sure.
Propane however...despite being manmade is actually a liquid in transportation, and only burns when it vaporizes and is lit by a spark.
Very cool effect.

i would say sodium. it nurns wirth water. so a dragons spit and some sodium would work fairly well.

Different forms of Phospherous are known to burst into flame when they are exposed to air.... I think that a dragons blood must have had some of this in it..... They burned intensly when they died leaving no trace of their existence..... The dragons mearly choughed up a bit of blood to "breathe flame" That is my theory....

In Dragonology, they say dragons have venom and a spark pouch, which is used to ignite the venom, to breathe fire.
