As asked above, do dragons have four legs? There has been no known vertebrate known to have six apendages, so why should there out of the blue be an exception? I think they don't. Give your reasons why or why not, and lets compare. I would give my reasons why, but I'm buisy right now, so I'll post them later. For now, c ya.

Yes and no are bad answers. There were more then one species of dragon, some with four legs, some with two legs, and some even with no legs. Examples; four legs: Fafnir and La Vibria, two legs: Wyvern (I don't know any specific names) no legs: The dragon of Henham, an amphiptere (the non-dragonology-edited, according-to-history version of the ampithere).

Another example of a two - legged dragon is a linworm.

Lindorm.

Lindworm is the dragonoligized version. In history, it is reffered to as a 'Lindorm'. Stupid dragonology.....messing up all the legends.....

Books tend to do that.

I think it's Wyrm, not Wyvern. Wyverns I think are slightly smaller, less powerful versions of dragons. At least in videogames Wyverns are common mounts.

No, Wyvern is used in a number of fantasy books, and is mentioned in history, as a large dragon with two legs and 'hands' on its wing tips.

Smaller and less powerful? Perhaps you speak of the Basilisk?

For Roadkill:
I love it to. I have all 3 U.S versions and beat them all over and over.

I only have Path of Radiance, but I'm saving for Sacred Stones. I literally drool over that game lol.

No, you're right. Wyrm is no legs, no wings, but they can still breathe fire. Basilisk isn't a dragon, just a giant venomous snake or a small lizard that can run on water. I've played too much Fire Emblem, lol.:D

You mean Aiolos' quote. I said that.

I'm not going to start another Basilisk arguement, but in current times, yes, a 'basilisk' is a lizard.

'giant venemous snake'. NO. You got that from Rowling, yes? According to history (dragon legends) the Basilisk is the original form of the Cockatrice. The Basilisk is a small wyvern, but was still VERY deadly.

Though I suppose this is argueable, because I HAVE heard a legend involving a giant, deadly snake called a 'basilisk'.

Hello Fire Emblem lovers. I have beaten every game 30 times, does that make me a fantic?

Anyhow everyone knows Ewan right anyway he is a super trainee that can potentially wield all three branches of magic. Not staves. He is the Athos of Sacred Stones and my most powerful character. Go Ewan Go Glipnir.

And yes wyverns have two legs

by WHY DO YOU ASK ME?!
I haven't literally beat it, but I would send it in the mail for the GBA, sacred stones, if somebody wants it. I can't beat it. The nightmare guy just obliteraded the Paladin, Umm.. What's his name. .Oreck? No...Well, the first paladin you get who gives Erika a rapier. But anyway, the final boss, not the one dark guy, the son of the emporer of Grado, destroyed that paladin in 1 hit and the other guy was weilding a sacred weapon and still couldn't beat him.

WAIT A SECOND!

What does the staff of latona do? Something tells me it destroys the final boss..

Adding to the dicussion, I found dragons through legends and games. They, tradionally, are 4 legged beasts with massive bat-like leathery wings.

Anyhoo the staff heals fully all characters on the board including ailments etc.

Whoa. Worst sacred item everXD

Umm. Dragons.

No wings...

Komodo Dragon seems closely related to an actual fire-spitting one, seeing as it does have a venomous bite and a strong build, and, quite plainly, they are...HUGE.

But, most "Dragons" that are ancient from my basic knowledge had no wings, and most likely looked like the Komodo, and so, it seems they would have 4 legs. I haven't got a giant library so big that in some places the shelves are unmarked and dusty in the closest town, but I am pretty sure if you saw all these writings and reports about Dragons, one would think that half the population of the world is looney. But we aren't. I just wish I had evidence of one.. Or, even better, a painting and a photograph. Or maybe live evidence.

This might be changing the subject, but WEIRD GUY, shouldn't you get an account???

Also, asking this question is like asking "do all mammals have 4 legs?"...
