I'm reading Temeraire: In the service of the King. Very good book so far.
I have about six or seven others I'm reading as well. I have a bad habit of starting a new book in the middle of another. I usually finish them, eventually.

"Dragons of Eden" that is a great book. I still use the "time line of the universe" in debates with people. Look for "The ghost in the Atom" it is a great book, a lot of science in it but a good read.
As you can see most of my reading is put into role-playing books. I don't feel like posting all of the books I have read for the past while. Just on my bookshelf I have about 150 of them.

Wow I have well over three thousand dollars put into my collection. (but a lot of my books are 50+ years old.) You must have really burnt a whole in the wallet for that over the years.

What I was reading recently:
Blood of the Fold: Sword of Truth (well worth it to see someone raises into glory)
Ender's Games (the first book of a long series, the other books telling what happenned to Ender after book 1 are a bit of an antagonism to the Blood of the Fold...)
Einstein's Dreams (is not exactly the typical book, it more a lot of short story about what would happen if time was different)
Currently reading:
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (I was waiting for the mass market paperback)
Next on the list:
Temple of Wind
Daughter of the Blood
Of course academic books do not count

am currently reading
The historian
The Earthsea quartet
I have the dark elf trilogy to read next from forgotten realms, I read the cleric quintet and like the authors style of writing.
for a bit more of a thought provoking book, i recommend Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami.
He's a Japanese author but the book has been translated. it deals with human issues an is set in thie realm no dragons in it I'm sorry. but a darn good read.
everyone should read, his dark materials.
Northern Lights (UK title)
The Subtle Knife
The Amber Spyglass.
I read them all in a week, couldn't put them down. I found them much more engaging then Harry Potter, and am looking forward to the movie being made. though the religious aspect of the books is causing a few hold ups.
